How To Learn How To Use Facebook Better For Small Business

Facebook is growing at a phenomenal rate and each week I hear at least one person saying they don't know what they should be doing with their Facebook page. It is a question being asked by small business owners around the world. It's true there is a huge amount of information available to help, but the volume of information available can be overwhelming. Quite often the Facebook guidebooks and tutorials come from digital marketing companies who only deal with large corporate clients. These companies have lots of money and staff time to put into social media strategies, as well as large client databases they can tap into in order to build numbers of followers. It can be frustrating for a small business owner who is told to offer a prize to encourage Facebook fans to sign up (as a large retail chain might do) only to have 20 people join.
The most straightforward way for a small business to learn what could work for them on Facebook is to simply follow other companies on Facebook that they think are proactive and industry leaders. There are three indications you can see at a glance on a company Facebook page that suggest a company is actively working on their Facebook marketing, these are:
  1. They have a number of followers who 'like' them (might be just 100 for a professional services company or 1,000s for a big retail store or chain).
  2. Their Facebook pages have fresh content that is less than a week old.
  3. Their Facebook pages show they are trying to engage customers and the wider Facebook community.
To start it is a good idea to try to think of companies that are in a similar situation to you with similar audiences and business objectives. You need to differentiate between B2C and B2B marketing as it is quite different. Don't look at a mass retailer or strong brand targeting a huge consumer audience, if you are selling a manufactured technical product and targeting niche distributors and potential agents. Don't focus on a company targeting teenagers if you are targeting business people.
It is common to look for direct competitors and find that none of them are doing much on Facebook either. In that case try to think of parallel or complimentary products or services. Then think of the market leaders in that industry or niche and search for them on Facebook as they may be using Facebook well. If you sell joinery components to building companies, think of all the other types of companies that work with builders. If you are an accountant working with businesses, check out prominent law firms, business advisors, business software companies and even business brokers to see what they are doing on Facebook.
Unless you are looking at a direct competitor it is easy to click Like on their Facebook page and then keep up with what they are doing. After a few weeks you'll get an idea of what initiatives and communications they are focusing on. While it can be challenging to grow and manage your Facebook page, there are lots of examples already out there of companies making it work with a diverse range of businesses and audience types.

How to Use Facebook For Your Online Business

Facebook is huge right now, with over 400 million users half of which log on each day Facebook is a real goldmine for traffic. Due to Facebook's popularity and the fact that it really is still in it's infancy it really is a prime candidate for new internet business owners to make money utilizing it. Many internet marketers have reported earning anywhere up to $5000 per day using Facebook and as a result of these reports Facebook has become the buzz of the internet marketing underground. In this article I will take you through one of the strategies internet business owners are utilizing to create massive viral profits through Facebook.
I remember the first time I first saw the true viral power which Facebook has. I was searching through my Facebook profiles newsfeed when I came across a pretty funny page title. Curious I clicked through and saw to my surprise that this fan page had gathered a following of over 100,000 people in just 24 hours. I was really taken back by the growth and exposure this page was getting and witnessed it continue to grow to a stage where it reached over 1 million members in just 5 days. After seeing that I switched my focus to learning about how I could tap into this huge viral effect that Facebook seemingly had the power to create.
If you haven't already guessed from my story this article is about why Facebook pages should be a focus for most internet business owners. Facebook fan pages can grow to enormous followings virally which is why in my opinion they are the most effective form of viral marketing online right now. Here is why:
When you join Facebook you are given your own network. Your network includes a new feed as well as a profile page. You can extend your own network by connecting with others profiles as friends. Once you have gathered some friends into your network then you are able to view all the activity of those friends in your Facebook news feed. This news feed is shown to you when you log into Facebook and one of the parts of Facebook activity which shows up in this news feed is when a friend of yours joins a Facebook fan page. If you then like what you see you have the ability to with one click join that page as well. When you join a fan page any time the fan page owner makes an action such as a "Status update" you can view that in your news feed.
Now that you understand how a person on Facebook joins a fan page we can look at it from the owners perspective. The owner of the fan page has people joining as a result of their friends joining and the page begins to grow rapidly. The fan page owner gets access to each person's news feed who joins it's page to direct the fans to other pages they own or offers which will make them money.
This is the real power of the Facebook fan page and if you can work out a system to take fan page after fan page viral you can create a very good income online for your internet business.

How to Use Facebook to Generate Free Leads

Facebook is taking over the world, OK that may be slightly exaggerated but it sure does seem like it. Here are some tips on how to use Facebook to generate free leads into your business opportunity.
Two thing you want to focus on in your Facebook account is:
1. Giving Value
2. Building Relationships.
You want to attract people to you, and this is more commonly known as "Attraction Marketing." Any relationship will start with your image, and how you want to present yourself to people. So it is very important to have a pleasant profile picture, let me go one step further with that, a pleasant smiling profile picture. You want to give off an image of "I'm successful". Your profile picture contains power if used correctly. I'm sure you have heard the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words", well this is true in this case as well.
Another important aspect for your Facebook page is your profile. You want to be yourself, this is so important. If you try to appear to be too professional, people will see through it quickly. On top of that, most people on Facebook will know you already. So you want to relate this in the short bio below your picture. Be who you are in this bio, and don't try to be someone you're not. You are a real person, and not some type of machine trying to market your business.
Now what I write here next is my preference, and how I choose to use my Facebook page. I don't use my Facebook status as form of trying to get people to my landing page. I usually use positive quotes or sayings. I see myself as an encourager and like to use this format to do so. You never know who needs a positive word on a particular day. I do have friends who are constantly using their status to try get people to a call or a webinar. I find this extremely impersonal and to be honest kind of tacky. However if you want to use it to give people information or send them to a blog or give them a free report, I see this as providing or giving value. Never underestimate the importance in providing value and developing relationships. This is the key to generating leads to your business, they will come to you!
Listen my name is Tomas Rodriguez, I work my business from home or from my laptop. I love to travel, love to laugh, & most of all, love spending time with my family.

How To Use Facebook To Get Network Marketing Leads For Free

Using Facebook is a great network marketing lead generation strategy. You don't need to get through many leads to make sales either because there is instant trust and credibility that is gained from interacting via social media first before presenting your business opportunity.
In this article we will quickly go over how to use Facebook to get network marketing leads and how to convert those leads into sales. We will also look at the best types of business opportunities to promote to users on Facebook.
The first step is to work on building your friends list on Facebook by adding other like minded entrepreneurs to your contacts on a daily basis. Don't just add random people, but perform targeted Facebook searches in order to find other self employed individuals and entrepreneurs who will make a good fit for your business.
A good way to do this is to search for people who have the phrase "self employed" or "entrepreneur" or "network marketing" in their profile page and then add these to your friends list.
It is also a good idea to drop them a friendly personal email message to say how you found them and that you would like to connect with another like minded networkers. You will find that most work from home entrepreneurs are very friendly and more than happy to build their list of contacts as well.
What I also suggest doing is to segment your Facebook friends into separate lists. So keep your friends and family in your main list and then add the entrepreneurs that you find to a separate list named "marketing" or "networkers" or something similar.
What some people now suggest doing is to personally reach out and start conversations with your new contacts. This can work well if you are good with people and can spot the most likely recruits into your business. However, it can be quite time consuming and I suggest another approach.
Simply post a status wall update to your new list segment about your business opportunity. Don't make this boring and generic with information about the company and products though. Instead share social proof about the opportunity in terms of the support and community you have as part of your team and how that is improving the lives of many people etc.
And when you get to the stage of getting results you can post screenshot proof of this and things will really start to snowball. Remember, proof does not have to mean sales. Simply getting more traffic to your website or your first leads can be proof that your marketing is working and is enough to spark the interest in your followers on Facebook.
At the end of your update message provide a strong call to action to encourage your readers to click your link which will then lead to your lead capture page. On this page the visitor will be asked for their email address in exchange for more information on the business opportunity.

How to Use Facebook For Your Network Marketing Business

You are told by your mentor to start your network marketing business by opening a Twitter account, a Facebook account. They tell you get on there and you will generate leads and sales just by being there and putting out content. No training is provided for you to learn how to set up your account. Well you are at the right place today because I will tell you exactly how to use Facebook account for your Network Marketing business. Let's do it!
Let's talk about a few of the don'ts. First do not put a picture of your product or your business. It is Facebook, not picture book. When you describe yourself in the info area, don't just say "I am here to help you towards financial freedom or I will teach you how to make $10K a month" Don't put videos or pictures that would not look professional. Example, pictures from your New Years Day party or from the football game where you might have had a little much to drink.
What are the dos? First it starts with your picture. A nice smiling sort of business casual would be great. Your bio should describe you and your business, not just you. When choosing your favorites make sure they are related to each other. If you are a fan of Golf but you choose a book about hockey as your favorite book, it does not really match even it is true. Your information box should be basic information about you like if you are married, who are you married to and your links to your webpage.
Become a fan of pages related to your business. Notice I said related. Start making friend requests in those pages and add a note like "HI Jane, I see you are a fan of...., so am I, let's connect! John". Most people will accept your request. Once they accept your request, send them a welcome message and start a conversation. Notice I said a conversation, not a sales pitch.
When placing content on your Facebook account, use common sense. You want to add value for all your friends. This is done by placing motivational quotes, forwarding good articles, videos and so forth. You want to provide interesting content so your friends want to know what you are up to. On Facebook you should sell yourself as a leader, not sell a product or service.
Once you have been established on Facebook for a while, you can start a business page where you would provide information to others for free to help them in their business or their lives. This would help building your brand and create a perception that you are an expert in your field. You can also use Facebook Pay Per Click but they are very strict and there is a cost associated. Make sure you make yourself familiar with their guidelines.
Knowing these simple guidelines on how to use Facebook for your network marketing business will make a ton of difference in your success. To be successful with Facebook, you must become a person of value, a person your friends would want to know about. If you follow these steps, you will experience success faster than you could imagine.

How to Use Facebook to Grow Your MLM

Marketing on Facebook is a great way to grow your network marketing business if it is done correctly and on a consistent basis. Depending on your time budget, you should spend about a couple of hours a day on Facebook. You should spend this time adding friends and writing on their walls. You can also write on walls of network marketing groups. You should not advertise your primary business on Facebook since no one cares about it. You should just build relationships and provide value to people.
Your Facebook marketing strategy should start out with adding between 20-30 friends per day from an mlm related group. You don't want to add more than 30 friends since you want to build trust and relationships with the people you add on Facebook. If you use an automated friend adding tool such as Facebook Friend Blaster, which I don't recommend, you will quickly reach the 5,000 Facebook friend threshold and you will not be able to add any more friends. You want to have friends that are serious network marketers. You don't want to add people that are not serious network marketers or not network marketers at all. so be selective when adding friends.
When adding friends you should send them a short message. You will usually get a better response rate if you send them a message. Here is an example of a message that you could use:
Hi First Name
I saw you in the _________ group. I am a network marketer looking to meet and network with new people. Feel free to take a look at my profile and add me as a friend
Your Name
Shortly after they accept your friend request, you should write a short message on their wall thanking them for accepting your request and showing that you are interested in them and what they do. You can also post a 20-30 second welcome video on their wall which you can record from your web cam. You should do the same thing when people add you as a friend.
You should also join several popular network marketing related groups. People from those groups will also add you as a friend since they will see you as a member of those groups. You should share valuable content on a few group walls a day. Don't try to advertise your primary business since that is considered spamming.
One last marketing strategy you could do is start an mlm related group. This is a great way to position yourself as a leader and build relationships and trust with your prospects. When you have a Facebook group, you appear to be a leader to other Facebook users. They assume that you know what you are doing and know how to use Facebook. When you start a group, you can invite all your friends and message the group members about important updates.
Now that I have revealed some information to you on how to use Facebook to build relationships and generate leads and signups, you should be ready to start promoting on Facebook right away. If you don't have a Facebook account, you can set one up for free at Facebook.com. Be sure to provide some information and photos in your profile before you start advertising and adding friends.

How to Use Facebook Layouts to Attract Visitors to Your Website

These days, the proliferation of social media on the internet has driven a lot of businesses to consider marketing their products via social media, whether directly or indirectly. Whether it's MySpace or Facebook, many are getting on the social media bandwagon because of the huge reach such portals have over millions of internet users who are a part of the social media community. If you run an online enterprise that is dependent on internet traffic, you should already know by now the importance of providing something - be it in the form of content or product - that will bring in both new and repeat traffic to your website. This article will show you how to use Facebook layouts to attract visitors to your website.
While many businesses prefer a more customized network as an essential tool to engage their customers, the number of businesses taking advantage of the inexpensive yet effective Facebook platform to engage in viral marketing is increasing by the day. These businesses are benefiting from the sheer number and demographics of users on Facebook, so it makes prudent sense to hop onto the Facebook bandwagon. But how do you go about using Facebook effectively as a source of increased traffic to your website?
The first and most important aspect of your Facebook profile should be your profile page. Not only is it the one page you have most control over, it is the place where you can convey your message to the hordes of other Facebook users. First impressions are important, and your profile page makes the first impression for you and your business. Many underestimate the number of page views a profile page generates. Connect to your customers, associates, and friends using the profile page; the connections you display on your profile page will stir the interest of profile viewers to know more about the people you're connected with and you yourself; both as a business and as an individual entity.
While many use Groups to engage in viral marketing, you should consider using Facebook Pages instead if you're looking to customize your Facebook layout. Facebook Pages are more customizable as compared to Groups, because you can add HTML, Flash, or applications to your pages. These little add-ons extend your pages' functionality and make it more interesting for users to peruse your profile pages. Also, there are no limitations as to how many "fans" in your group that you can message, so it gives you a wider reach to your targeted audience, making it a viable option for small businesses that are looking to establish their presence on Facebook.
But if you have the budget, Facebook also allows you to reach an even wider audience. Whatever your budget, you can choose a simple short-run flyer for a few dollars or even a customized "sponsored group" campaign in Facebook for a few hundred thousand dollars. Social Ads is one example of an affordable ad that you can consider, as these ads are placed on profile pages and news feeds and gets your business out there via click-throughs.
So you see, there are many options for you to choose from when using Facebook layouts to attract visitors to your website. Whatever your budget, Facebook is a viable solution you can consider when you're looking to increase the traffic to your website.

How To Use Facebook For Your Small Business

How To Use Facebook For Your Small Business
Leveraging Facebook to generate leads, increase site traffic, and even make a little money is every Arizona small business owner's goal. But in most cases, it's not as simple as getting on once a week for an hour, posting a bunch of 'interesting' information, and getting on with your life hoping that the leads will start flowing in. Facebook is a remarkable tool for creating a 'buzz' about your small business and inviting new friends to check out your services, but done in the wrong way Facebook can also hurt your overall brand image.
Facebook reaches millions upon millions of people: 500 million to be exact. And 200 million Facebook users are mobile, getting their Facebook fix from their Android and iPhone and Windows devices. According to the Facebook Press Room, in 2010 the average Facebook user was connected to 80 community pages, groups and events, created 90 pieces of content each month and shared more than 30 billion links, news stories, blog posts and pictures.
Marketing your business on Facebook is no longer a 'maybe we'll do it this year.' It's nearly a requirement to establish your brand as credible, available, and trending. We've put together the top three things you must do on Facebook to be successful, as well as the top three things you absolutely should not do on Facebook. Let start with the bad news first and end with the good news.
Top 3 Mistakes Small Business Owners Make on Facebook
1. Over-Posting - I see this mistake made over and over again. In most cases it happens because the small business owners has great intentions and wants to be active on the social networks, but they either don't have time throughout the week or they just plain forget. When they do remember, or do have some marketing time, they jump on Facebook, don't join any conversations or start news ones, but post about five status updates, links and news information in a 15 minute time frame.
2. Not Enough Time - Maybe 15 minutes is all the time that you have for Facebook, and if that's the case then you might want to consider adding some help to your marketing team. By over-posting, you're not giving followers a reason to be interested in your company, you're giving them a reason to "unfriend" you. Take your time with posts. If you do only have 15 minutes on Friday evening to get your Facebook marketing done, put up your most interesting status update in the first minute, spend 12 minutes seeking out new friends and conversations, an in the 15th minute post your second most interesting status update.
3. Unbranding Your Business - Facebook is a great resource for keeping up your Arizona small business brand. It's important to 'stay in character' and to 'stay in business mode' while spreading information about your business brand. Playing games, talking about personal issues, or posting inappropriate pictures will kill your brand. Spending time on Cityville and Farmville from your Facebook business pages will only show that you're not professional and not concerned with how your business brand appears to others.
Top 3 Things A Small Business Owner Must Do On Facebook
1. Brand Your Business - Send a clear message with every status update, photo upload and conversation piece about your brand. For example, a client of Linwright Design happens to be in the field of pain management, and a lot of patients are living with things like RA and fibromyalgia. So we seek to join conversations around these topics, spreading our overall brand message by suggesting information from our website and our branded blogs on these conditions. As an Arizona small business owner, your profile picture can be your logo with information about your business, or if you are proud of your team and want to make your brand a bit more personal it can be a "family" photo of your employees.
2. Seek Out Conversations - Don't be over-active in 'friend requesting' strangers. For one thing, you will get penalized and possibly even blacklisted from Facebook all together, which is the last thing you want. See out conversations in your industry by doing searches with keywords. For example, for our pain management client mentioned above we search keywords 'fibromyalgia' (and more) to listen and join conversations that people are already having about this condition.
(Tip: Go to the search box at the top of your Facebook Page. Enter the keywords that you are searching for. Go to the bottom of the search results where it says "see more results." Look to the left and click on "posts by everyone." This will take you to the world and all conversations on Facebook regarding your industry. Listen to what people are talking about, get ideas for blogs, and join conversations.)
3. Be Consistent - Facebook, as with any other social media platform, is all about consistency. So you only have an hour a week to spend on Facebook? Spread that hour out throughout the entire week. Even 15 minutes every day will help more than one hour all in one day. You have to be available to your Facebook friends and you have to be able to monitor your brand. If someone leaves a comment or asks a question, you need to be able to answer those or respond. Even 15 minutes, at the end of your day, every day, will make a small but crucial difference over time.

How to Use Facebook to Drive Traffic to Your Articles

This article is for those people who want to drive traffic to their articles and later on, to their blogs and website using the very popular social networking site - Facebook. Here's what you need to do:
Provide interesting information on your profile. Be very creative when writing your profile to draw more attention. Make sure that you do not make something up. People are more likely to connect with you if they feel your sincerity. Tell them who you are, what you do, the things that you find interesting, your areas of expertise, and your hobbies. Then, provide the links where people can easily access your articles. This could be your website, your EzineArticles author page, or your blog.
Do not engage in hard selling or blatant advertising. I know that your main goal in doing this is to secure decent sales but doing what I mentioned earlier will not help you in anyway. You see, if you make your Facebook page sounds like a sales letter, I can guarantee you that you'll shoo your potential clients away. Worst, they might even block you. You don't want that to happen, right?
Build your credibility. This is the first thing that you need to achieve. You need people to consider you as an expert in your niche before they'll listen to you. So, connect with those people who are considered industry leaders in your niche. Talk about relevant issues and share your opinion. Ensure that your posts are well written, well thought-out, and simply impressive. Remember, your potential clients are reading what you're saying.
Upload pictures and videos. This is something that will make your Facebook page really interesting. As often as you can, post relevant pictures that your target audience might find interesting. Also, create amazing videos. If you're selling information products about making money online for example, create a tutorial video showing your prospects how they can create their website to start their affiliate marketing career. Through this, you'll be able to help them and you'll be able to showcase your expertise in your niche. It's like hitting two birds with one stone, right?
Mingle with other people. Social media marketing is all about being social. So, visit the Facebook pages of other people and leave comments on their status, pictures, and videos. If you do this all the time, these people will be enticed to do the same. They'll visit your page and they'll know about your and your business.
Wait for the right time to pitch in your products and services. Do not offer what you're selling to every person who leaves comments on your pictures or status. Instead, wait for them to ask you about products and services that you can recommend to them. Then, send them a link to your blog, EzineArticles page, or website where they can easily find your articles. The more traffic you send to your articles, the better your chances of boosting the number of your sales leads.

How to Use Facebook in Business - Part Two of Two Part Series

Martin Van Zyl had a $0 marketing budget but made a phenomenal amount of money on Twitter. Check out what he is doing. See how he had to use social media to generate leads. Martin started using Facebook first, followed up with Twitter training, You Tube for videos, and writing blogs. His strategy: offer sources of good content. Your strategy should be the same.
Next, start with something you have read. Find an article; focus on a blog post such as "Why Being the Breadwinner Doesn't Mean You Win Anything" from Martin Van Zyl.
Just as importantly, you should set up a 'group' on Facebook so you are not sending people to your landing page because that will just turn them off causing you to lose your chance with them. So create your group, target network marketers to add tips and tricks but do not pitch your business YET. Remember to build relationships first. You can pitch your business in due time. Be patient.
Also following up your message in your subject line for example, should be some type of free Facebook training. You should again refer to them by name and invite them to a free training Webinar or phone conference bridge to learn how to generate tons of leads. After this, you can funnel them to your landing page as you have built this relationship based on free education which gets a better response.
Continue to use Facebook in your business to give value then funnel your friend to other pages. You can paste videos on the walls of the profitable friends you have been building relationships with. The more value you can give, the more they will come back to you.
In addition, write 2 to 3 articles a week which add more value and content to share. Make use of the You Tube button to upload video which will add more friends as they view videos which offer more content and value.
Previously, from Part One of 'How to Use Facebook in Business' to recap, you want to:
Create the right kind of profile.
Do not pitch your business all the time or you will drive people away.
This is 'social' media so take the time to be sociable. Build relationships with people.
To build relationships give value and content.
Your profile should tell a story so be yourself; share your zany hobbies and things you like to do.
Add links using your blog and/or Twitter but not more than 3.
Now, the methods listed here, and in Part One, for using Facebook in Business may seem overly simplistic. That is because they are. Do not try to re-invent the wheel or make this harder than it is. Just implement the simple steps discussed here. You should see improvements in getting leads and new business.

How to Use Facebook to Get Article Traffic

Article marketing remains to be one of the most powerful sources of web traffic. It's still one of my favorite tools when promoting my business online, when building my brand, and when strengthening my expert status in my niche. But did you know that you supercharge your article marketing campaign if you promote your articles through Facebook?
Facebook, as you might already heard, is now one of the extremely popular websites in the world. Proof to that is the fact that it attracts the same number (and sometimes, even more) of visitors as Google. The good thing about it is promoting your articles on FB is much easier compare when you're doing this on search engines. You just need to know the basics and you'll be able to multiply your article traffic in no time.
Here's how you can make that happen:
1. First obvious step is to of course, get your Facebook account. You have the option of getting a regular account or a fan page. Then, get more people to join your network. Research and identify FB members who are sharing the same interest and who are most likely to do business with you in the long run. Make your profile interesting and ensure that it'll speak volumes about your expertise in your niche and that it will represent your business very well.
2. Socialize. The goal of FB is not really to help internet marketers like you to drive traffic to your website. Its main goal is to get people to socialize with each other. So, instead of promoting your articles right away, mingle with people in your network first. Get to know them and give them a chance to know you. Read their status updates and react. Like their photos and comment on their messages. Little by little, people will know you. This is important as this will help you break down the wall that can separate you and your potential clients.
3. Write amazing status updates. Amaze people in your network by always coming up with updates that are simply interesting. You can talk about the recent issues related to your niche, react on blog posts written by industry experts, offer insider tips and trade secrets, etc. Through this, you'll be able to get your target audience to check your wall every now and then. This will also give you an opportunity to show to these people that you're a great source of valuable information and that they can trust you.
4. Ensure the quality of your articles. Before you send your Facebook friends to your articles, ensure that your articles are worth their while. They must be original, very useful and informative, well-written, and simply out of the ordinary. Post these articles on your blog, on your website, and on article marketing sites.
5. Promote your articles to your FB friends. Give your followers bits and pieces of exciting information about the articles that you're about to publish to build anticipation. Then, give them the link of your articles page or website/blog where they'll be able to read the whole article. Using attention-grabbing teasers and getting as many likes and shares as possible will definitely help.

Ebook Writing Profits - How to Use Facebook and Twitter to Sell More Ebooks and Build Your Business

Social networking has made the process of marketing your eBook much easier. By having a presence on Facebook and Twitter you can position yourself as an expert in your field in a very short time. Even while you are still writing your eBook, get started on these two social media sites and become the go-to person in your niche.
Facebook now has more than one hundred million members, so the best way to let people know about you and your eBook is to start your own group. You can use the title of your eBook as the title of the group you create, provided it is filled with your keywords.
You can invite your Facebook friends to join your group, but people will also be able to find your group by typing your keywords into Google or any other search engine. For example, if you type eBook writing and technology into Google, my Facebook group is number one. How cool is that?
You will also want to create a page on Facebook with the name of the eBook as the title. A page is separate from your profile in that it is specifically about your business or your product, which in this case is your eBook.
This page will also rank high in the search engines, but that is not the only way it will help people to find you and your eBook. When you create a page you can also import your blog's RSS feed into the page. This means that every time you make a post to your blog it will automatically be syndicated into Facebook. Even though you can do this in other areas of Facebook, being able to import your blog, where you are writing about your niche topic, will give your eBook even more exposure.
My strong recommendation is that you purchase a domain name that is the same as the name of your eBook, and then forward that domain to your page on Facebook. Your blog's domain name can be something very similar, or it can be exactly the same with a different extension. For example, your blog may end with dot come, whereas your Facebook page may end with dot net. This is a great way to take full advantage of your keywords, while branding your name and your niche at the same time.
Twitter is the other major player in the social networking arena. You can set up your account to automatically tweet your blog posts at certain times each day. When you write about your eBook in one of your blog posts, anyone who is following you on Twitter will see what you have written.
Even though you are limited to 140 characters with each tweet, you can shorten your links by using a site such as tinyurl or bitly. This enables you to provide great information about your eBook in the space you are allowed. You may also want to give out a sample chapter to your Twitter followers so that they can see if this is something they will be interested in purchasing. I recommend doing this while you are still writing, so that you will already have prospects when you are ready to make sales.
The combination of Facebook, Twitter, and your blog will give you the online presence you need in order to sell your eBook and become known to your target audience. By seeing your name in so many places, you will be able to attract new prospects and clients on a regular basis.
By getting involved in social networking right now, you will be able to position yourself as the expert in your niche. People will know who you are and associate you with your topic. There has never been a better time to be online than right now, and social networking speeds up the process of building your list and gaining the credibility and visibility necessary to sell your eBook and building your online empire.
