Basic Facebook Fan Page Optimization For High Ranking Google SEO

When it comes to internet marketing, you cannot just focus on one aspect of the internet. Social networking sites have become a huge part of internet marketing. Getting your information out there on as many platforms as possible will result in more targeted traffic visiting your website. After all, Social networks are free and right there so why not use them to your advantage. If you have a website that you are trying to promote, Facebook is great place to start. You can create a Facebook fan page for your website. There are several different ways that you can keep your fan page optimized for search engines to find it. Fan pages are also a great way to drive direct traffic right to your website.
You need to focus on keywords. You can link keywords to the name of your company or website on your Facebook fan page. Keywords and keyword usage are important to internet marketing. They are important because of search engine optimization. You want your website to rank high with the search engines. Keywords help make this happen, because when a person is searching for your product or service, they will normally use a particular word or phrase to find the information. If your website utilizes the right keywords, the person will find your website. Search engines, such as Google, are vital to the success of your internet marketing campaign and to the overall success of your website.
Another way to get your Facebook page Google optimized is with your page information. Use keywords all over your Facebook fan page. Use them in your "about" tab. Use them in your "info" tab. When you make status updates, use keywords. Do not overdue the use of keywords because Google does not look favorably on unnatural and spammy content. But the strategic use of keywords will keep your page high in the rankings. It will also drive even more traffic to your website. Be sure and put a link to your website in your profile, as well as the "info" tab. Once you have your fan page optimized, keep up the content. Use creative content; get your fans involved with your page. Use videos and pictures and give them keyword-rich tags.
Be sure and link back to your Facebook fan page from your website. You can add a signature link to your emails. Part of internet marketing is getting the information out there in any way that you can do it. If you keep throwing your fan page around the internet, you will increase the number of fans you have. This is something that ranks high with Google, too. Once you have those fans, you have to keep them by updating your fan page consistently with relevant content and links. Not only will you keep your fans, but your page will continually be optimized. By following the simple rules here along with other SEO strategy your Facebook fan page along with your website will soon have the traffic you desire.
Facebook integrates well into an existing internet marketing campaign. With many places to optimize and high page rank, the content you place on your Facebook pages, including your fan page will help your Internet Marketing. Today's customer is online.

Social Media Marketing - The 10 Social Media Laws of Facebook

Where have YOU been?
Unless you have lived in a cave the last 4 years, you have probably heard of this. It is a rocking hot social networking site that seems to be almost everywhere today. It is on the news. It is on the radio. It is on the minds of millions of folks a day.
It is called "Facebook" and over 175 million people are active on this site.
Ok- I know that you may be asking," A LAW about Facebook?" Yes, 10 of them for marketing and business success in what you do. I am a marketer and have been for 20 years. I built a training and consulting business that does business in over 20 countries, because of social media and the internet. And there are marketing laws that all marketers and business professionals must follow if they are going to have Success in the marketplace online.
It is the same for Facebook.
Lets cover them briefly:
1) The Law of Visibility on Facebook.
You MUST be visible on Facebook of you are going to get your message out. You must spend time on Facebook and get to know people. You must put yourself together a "Facebook blueprint" and work it. How many hours a week are you going to be seen on FB? How many times are you going to befriend someone this week? How many times are you going to upload photos this week? All of these things put you in the 'Visibility Zone" on Facebook, and on the radar as far as people on Facebook. Be SEEN and be THERE on a daily basis.
2) The Law of the Powerful Facebook Profile.
Why would people want to get to know you? One of the first things they check out is your Facebook profile. What does it say- but better yet- what does it DO? Does it make people curious and want to get to know you? Does it make them think? Does it make them smile? Does it make them see that you have Value for their life and can help change it?
Powerful Facebook profiles are NOT based on what is said in your profile- but what it DOES.
Does it direct them to DO something? Does it tell them you are person they MUST know? Or someone that has a nice picture and a nice profile- with no magnetism? Put yourself OUT THERE and tell the world WHY they need you as a friend, and get them to take action towards YOU.
3) The Law of the Facebook WALL.
You MUST use your Wall to market or message. many folks regard their Wall as a communication utility like email. It is not that. You already have a Facebook email. The Wall is for you to BUILD- BRICK BY BRICK- MESSAGE BY MESSAGE- NOTE BY NOTE- VIDEO BY VIDEO- your Brand on Facebook. Every time something happens with you- it goes on your Wall. Don't stare at the wall- CLIMB THE SUCKER and make your message the PEAK of the page- and keep yourself out there with the Wall. And answer the messages on your Wall. Thank people for sharing with you their visit or message. This will show up on THEIR wall. This will set you apart from most on Facebook. The Wall is simply a BILLBOARD of what you are doing and your friends are doing on Facebook. Use it often and wisely.
4) The Law of Your Facebook Network.
You are part of a local Facebook network and you have access to that network to befriend them. I live in Birmingham Michigan, and the network i am a part of is the Detroit network. There are 640,926 people in my network that I could potentially MEET LIVE in a local place and get to know them and connect with them. You have local folks as well. Where do you find your network?
Click on "settings" and then click on "network." You will find it there. This is a GOLD MINE of people in your local area to CONNECT and Construct new trust bridges that may lead to business down the road.
5) The Law of the Facebook Notifications.
This is an overlooked and rarely talked about utility. Notifications are part of your "Facebook email system." Go to "email" at the top of your Facebook profile page, and then click on "notifications."This is list of who is thinking about you, talking about you, including you in tags, and generally is pointing to you. This is a GOLD MINE of people that have PROVEN they are behind you and willing to make you a part of their Facebook experience. Pay attention to the Facebook notifications. Thank them for their thoughts of you on their Wall and let them know you appreciate it. Include them as well on your tags and other activity on Facebook. The notifications are GOLD and is a prospecting Vault of Leads. And make sure you stay CONNECTED to them.
6) The Law of Facebook Link Love.
The Link application on Facebook is a HOT commodity. It allows you to post a link that you like and then sends it out on the news feed that is on your home page. It picks up the image that you want on the link page, and allows it to be a LIVE link. Send out other people's LINK and givem some LOVE. Do NOT just send out your own links. Let others do that. Find interesting links of others and send them out.
WHY? EXPOSURE for you. You will be given credit for the link. People LOVE link love. If you send out a LOT of other people's links on Facebook, they will start sending out YOUR links. Been there done that.
7) The Law of Facebook Groups.
Join groups. Join a LOT of Groups. Start your OWN groups. The join MORE groups. Why? Here are a few reasons: EXPOSURE. CONNECTION to other Group members. AUTHORITY. Start your own and be a Leader. INCREASE YOUR REACH.Groups extend your reach into Facebook. MULTIPLIED PROSPECTS. There are more people in a group - then on a profile page.
Duh. Build a list in your own group and then you can become an admin and email messages to them. Make them messages of VALUE and interest.
8) The Law of Facebook Events.
Attend events. Attend more Events. And then attend many MORE events. Why? It allows you to leave a message on the events page wall, and create exposure. I attend at least 2 Facebook events every week- to learn- and to network. Events can be found on the new Facebook page in the upper right under "Upcoming"-these are the events that are upcoming. There is one unique twist: You have birthdays under the "upcoming" tag- and you can send presents to folks. THIS will get their attention as it shows up on their wall and the news feed as well. Attend as many events as you can. make them worth your while- learn and grow from them. BUT'always leave a RSVP message about attending or not- with an encouraging message. This will show your professionalism, and caring.
Event UP! This will do you well on Facebook. Put the term "events" in the search box, and it will find every event that is going on in your network of friends. It is a GOLD MINE of new possibilties of business. Become a master of events!
9) The Law of Facebook Multimedia- Videos and Photos.
People LOVE photos and videos. They are the most looked at and watched pages on Facebook. Make some videos and upload them. Upload some photographs. Not only will the be seen on your wall and the Facebook news feed, but also will allow you to "tag" others on these. This means that you can pick out people you have befriended and let them know you are thinking of them. And when you tag someone- it shows up on THEIR wall. Not isn't THAT cool? It is called EXPOSURE!
10) The Law of the Facebook NEWS FEED.
This is the big kahuna of Exposure on Facebook. This gets you out to ALL of your friends and creates a massive exposure vehicle that can keep your brand in front and recognized. You also will be many times on the "featured" part of the new news feed on the right. This gives you HUGE exposure. Whatever you do, like change your status, upload a video, write and publish a note, or just comment on another person's message on the Facebook news feed- it SHOWS UP in the news Feed. Be seen- and be seen often if you are trying to brand yourself on Facebook.
Yes, you need to establish relationships, and build community. But if you are going to MARKET on Facebook-then you need to at least get a guideline of what and how to do it. The 10 Social Media Laws of Facebook hopefully gave you some idea in your social media marketing.

Basic Facebook Marketing Strategies to Generate Endless Leads and Dominate

According to Alexa, Facebook is the second most popular website next to Google. I researched more and found that around 30% of the global internet subscribers visit Facebook every day. Facebook currently has 300 million subscribers and is growing rapidly. 45 Million updates are made on Facebook every day and world wide users spend around 8 billion minutes per day.
What does it mean to you as an internet marketer? It is a large gold mine. Isn't it? However, How are you going to position yourself uniquely and promote your business on Facebook considering the large volume of updates being posted on Facebook every day? How do you grasp the attention of the Facebook users? The purpose of this post is to make you aware of the basic Facebook marketing strategies and tools that you need to successfully generate leads and dominate.
Always remember Facebook is a social network and should not be used to pitch your business. Prosperity in your Facebook marketing is directly proportial to the number of solid relationships developed with fellow users. So, Lets gets started
Facebook Profile
- A picture is worth thousand words. Make sure to add a picture in your profile
- Fill in your past info such as schools went and make it public so that people can find you through search
- Fill in your interests and make it public so that fellow subscribers could relate to you
- Fill in all your websites such as a blog, Twitter, your capture pages etc on your profile. By default, only your primary website is displayed. I would highly recommend to display all your websites in your profile. Anyone visiting your profile page could click on your URLS and learn more about you
Add Friends
After creating a profile, do not wait for things to happen. Go ahead and find and add few friends a day every day. It is advised that you can add up to 25-30 friends everyday. Excessive adding of friends will result in removing your page by Facebook administrators.
Interact with friends through like and comment
Once you have added a few friends and see their content on your home page, start interacting with them by liking and commenting on their updates. Commenting on updates could have a viral effect. When you comment on an update, your comment will show up on the updater's wall and is visible to all his friends. So, it pays to make intelligent comments and get traffic back to your page. Also, feel free to share quotes, posts, and videos that had a positive impact on you. Key is to interact with Facebook friends as much as possible.
Facebook Photo Albums
Feel free to share your pictures and videos with your friends on Facebook. People would love to know more about you through pictures and videos. If you have been to a networking event and have taken pictures with the leaders and fellow networkers, share those pictures with stories about the events and see the traffic to your website increasing
Facebook Videos
If a picture is worth thousand words, how much is a video worth? In 2009, video marketing has been growing rapidly and is here to stay. Facebook allows you to either upload videos or shoot a video instantly. More you share the videos, better it is. Do share your videos about networking events, funny incidents, achievements and any other video that could have a positive influence on others. I use the video feature of Facebook in a couple of ways and am seeing phenomenal results:
1. I introduce myself to recently added friends. A short video describing who I am and appreciating for friendship
2. I use instant Facebook video recording option to wish birthdays to friends
Facebook Groups
Group positions you as a leader and displays the value you can provide to fellow networkers. Facebook users who join your group can be converted to prospects for your biz by using effective attraction marketing strategies. It pays to establish a group and providing value to the members of the group through emails, invitations to an event etc. I also use groups in Facebook to identify like minded people and to promote my posts.
Facebook Events
Facebook allows you to create a public event ( viewable to all members of Facebook) and provides you URL that can be used to communicate on other social networks like Twitter, MySpace etc. I send an event invitation via email to all my group members. Event feature keeps track of the users status (attending, not attending, may be) about the event. I see an increase in numbers for the event when I blast a reminder email to people who were not sure or were planning to attend.
Facebook Wall posts
Evey user in Facebook has a wall where he posts messages and moderates the comments made. If you are a core Facebook user, I am sure that you must be posting and promoting your content on your wall. However, It is worth much more to learn how to post your content effectively on walls of the members having a huge number of friends. It can be done by giving a lot of value that could be beneficial to the users visiting the page. Facebook will disable your account if they see you spamming. So, be cautious while using this approach.
Facebook Notes
Do you have a self hosted word press blog? If no, I would highly recommend you to start blogging and provide valuable content. Facebook notes is an awesome feature you can use to make your valuable blog content visible publicly to all members of Facebook. Also, there are applications that imports your blog content into the notes in an automated way. Isn't that cool?
This feature would increase your blog traffic tremendously and ultimately your sales if you are using the blog as central hub/nerve center as I mentioned in my Attraction Marketing Blueprint post.
Facebook Applications
I am not a big fan of applications on Facebook as I generate enough traffic using the resources mentioned above. However, there are couple of applications that I personally use
Vuyou (Video Email Application): If you are an internet marketer and are generating leads through various marketing strategies like PPC, classifieds etc, you already might know the value of connecting with the prospect. I use this FREE video email application to connect with my leads as soon as they enter in to my sales funnel.
Networked Blogs: I use this application to increase the visibility for my blog. This is a cool application which allows Facebook users to subscribe to my blog and access my updates regularly.
Once you have these Basic Facebook Marketing tools [http://srinimetta.com/srini-mettatop-ten-basic-facebook-marketing-tools-to-position-as-a-leader-and-dominate] in place, learn exact step by step Facebook Marketing Blueprint [http://fbsecretstrategies.com/?t=article] of how you can spend only 30 minutes a day to create at least 20 Raving Fans per day on Facebook and convert them into Paying customers and Distributors for FREE.

5 Basic Facebook, Twitter and Social Media Tips For Small Businesses

Social Media is nothing new these days. Everyone from grandmothers to first graders have their own Twitter or Facebook page. With comScore reporting a 25% increase in unique visitors to social media sites in June, 2008 compared to June, 2007, social media needs to be in every small business marketing plan.
The problem is, how can small businesses find customers via social media with such a saturation of users? Here are some tips that can help:
1. Focus On the Big Names First
Open accounts on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace to start. Every small business with an online presence - whether you actually sell products online or simply have a site for your brick and mortar business - should have an account with them. They are all easy to set up and free. Be sure to create a Facebook Fan Page for your business, rather than a typical Profile Page.
2. Brand Your Pages
Twitter, Facebook and MySpace all allow you to customize your pages in some way. Be sure not to use the default templates each site offers you. Facebook and Twitter even allow you to have your own vanity URL, meaning if you own a pizza parlor, your Facebook URL could be "facebook.com/"yourpizzaparlor" (some qualifications must be met).
Create a 200 x 200 image containing your business name, logo and contact information for Twitter. You can also use this template or simply create it in Word or Powerpoint (just remember to save it as a PDF document).
Facebook does not yet allow you to customize your entire Fan Page, but you can create an image that contains your business name and logo and upload it. This way, every update or post you create contains your image.
MySpace allows you to customize nearly every aspect of your page. Be sure to upload an image of your business name and logo (use the Facebook image you created) as your profile image, and create a background containing either your business colors, themes or your logo.
3. Add Unique Content
Unique content can be created easily for even the smallest businesses as well as those that do not even sell their products online. Go beyond basic written content explaining the mission of your small business, the products or services you offer and your location (though all of those ARE necessary). Give your potential customers something unique that will make them want to visit your website and/or business location, and eventually return. Videos, photos, polls and contests are just a few forms of content that can make your page stand out.
For example, a bakery that only sells its products direct from their location could make a short, documentary-style video of their baking facility. An online jewelry site could upload images of some of their newest pieces. A florist located in Los Angeles with only an informational website could post a poll on Twitter and Facebook asking people what their favorite summer flower might be, and then responding to those who answer with a special offer.
Note: Every business should at least have one short video on their website, Facebook and MySpace page for three reasons:
1.Video is one of the most easily consumable forms of online content.
2.It is easy to make (most digital cameras or phones can make a decent video).
3.It can be easily shared online.
4. Advertise Your Pages
One you have all of your pages up and running with some content and pertinent information, make sure to advertise them properly. Each site has its own name for what you would simply call a "potential customer":
1.Facebook Business Pages have "Fans"
2.Twitter pages have "Followers
3.MySpace pages have "Friends"
Create links to each of your pages using logos, text or both, and place them in a prominent position on your website. Make sure to include those same logos/links on every email you send out to your email list.
5. Engage Directly
The best advantage social media advertising holds over any other form of advertising (besides being free) is the ability it gives you to interact with customers and potential customers. Be sure to take advantage of this fact the moment your business pages are up and running. Start by making friends: just use each site's search tools to find people who might be writing about or searching for the kind of products you offer.
Facebook will take care of some of the work by suggesting some people you should "invite" to become fans of your business, but be sure to also search for your own. Try looking for similar businesses and invite fans of their pages.
Twitter will also suggest users to follow who will then follow you. However, search.twitter.com is an invaluable tool for any business because it can immediately put you into contact with people who might want what you sell. Let's use the bakery example again: Go to search.twitter.com and search for "breakfast pastries Los Angeles". You will be given a long list of every individual on Twitter who has recently typed in the phrase "breakfast pastries" as well as the location "Los Angeles". Some might simply be talking about a great breakfast pastry they just finished, but others might be asking for a great bakery in the Los Angeles area for breakfast pastries. Now is your chance to engage them directly and suggest your bakery.

How to Create a Facebook Business Page: A 6 Step Guide

Also as Facebook changes regularly - this guide was written in April/May 2011.
This guide will take you through how to create a Facebook Business Page (aka Facebook Like Page).
Since the demise of the Facebook 'Static FMBL' application, it has been confusing for users of Facebook to create an effective 'Like Page' for their business, organisation or interest. I wanted to write this eBook guide to show that it is still easy to create a great Like Page with other, similar applications to the original Static FMBL application. I was confused earlier this year when these changes on Facebook occurred and found it very difficult to find direction on this. I did my own research and have condensed what I found into this guide. I hope it is useful.
This guide will show you how to create a Facebook Like Page for your business or organisation, including how to set up an initial Landing (or Welcome) Page (or Tab) to give a new visitor a great experience. Subsequently we will be writing other informative articles in this area about Facebook Like Page design and engaging with your Fans.
Step 1: How to Create a Basic Facebook Business Page:
1. The first stage in how to create a Facebook business Page is to set up a basic Business Like Page and then customise:
2. From your personal profile, go to any other company's or person's own Like Page.
3. Click on 'Create a Page' (located in the bottom left of the page)
4. The best choice on the next page for an effective Like Page is 'Brand or Product'; this can be fine-tuned later if necessary.
5. Next, you can choose the type of business/organisation you are, under 'chose a category'.
6. Then you can type the name of your brand (and name of your new Like Page) into the 'Brand or Product' box.
7. Your basic Like Page will now be created - ready for customisation.
8. The first 'tab' within your new Like Page that you will see is the helpful 'Get Started' page. Click the 'Update Category' button.
9. The 'Get Started' tab guides you through some of the things that you will need to and we will revisit this in a later guide. Our first priority is to customise your Like Page with a page known as a 'Landing' or 'Welcome' page (or Tab).
10. After you have confirmed the Category of your page ('Update Category'); you have created your basic Like Page.
11. You now have a basic Like Page set up; all ready to customise and make it more effective.
Step 2: Switching Between Your Personal Profile and Your New Like Page:
1. Now you have a new (basic) Like Page, you can switch between it and your Personal Page.
2. This is a new feature in Facebook. You can use Facebook as yourself (your Personal Profile) or as your business/organisation/interest (your Like Page).
3. To switch between the two, click on the 'Account' tab at the top-left of the page, then 'Use Facebook as Page'.
4. You will then be presented with all of the Like Pages that you have created (or that you are an administrator for - we will come on to administration of pages in another eGuide) see above.
5. Click on the 'Switch' button for the Like Page that you want to switch to.
6. You are then back to the 'Get Started' tab within your Like Page.
Step 3: Customising Your New Facebook Like Page:
Now that we have created a Facebook Business Page, we want to make your Like Page more appealing and more effective for you to build your Facebook community around your business/organisation/interest.
1. The first thing to do (as also suggested by the 'Get Started' guide) is to upload an image or logo.
2. This is straightforward: Click on 'Upload an Image'.
3. Then click on 'Choose File'.
4. This will then take you to a file explorer, allowing you to choose a picture or logo file from your own (local) computer.
5. Double-click on the photo that you want to upload.
6. This picture/logo (also sometimes known as an Avatar) is then published to the left-hand side of your Like Page.
7. Note: All pictures that you upload are also shown at the top of your 'Wall' tab also.
8. Steps 2 onwards on the 'Get Started' page can be carried out later, and we will be writing a further guide for these steps. We need to set up a Welcome page before these steps.
Step 4 continued: Setting up a Welcome Page.
Note: Part of how to create a Facebook Business Page is creating a Welcome Page. A Welcome Page is also sometimes known as a 'Landing Page' is it is where a visitor 'lands' the first time they access your Like Page.
1. From the 'Get Started' tab(page), click on 'Edit Page'.
2. You will arrive at the Manage Permissions tab.
3. You will need to go to the 'Apps' (short for 'applications') tab.
4. Facebook may ask you to switch back to your Personal Profile identity at this point. This is fine - click the 'Continue as You' button.
5. You will then be taken to the 'All Apps' (applications) part of Facebook.
6. Search for 'Static HTML'.
7. Then click on the 'Static HTML: iframe tabs' (with the star logo).
8. You will then be directed to the page for this App.
9. Click on the 'Go to App' button.
10. Facebook will then ask which of your Like Pages you would like to add this application to.
11. Choose the Like Page that you have just created.
12. Facebook will then ask you for confirmation that you want 'Static HTML: iframe tabs' to be added to your new Like Page; click on the 'Add Static HTML: iframe tabs' button.
13. Once confirmed, you will see that there is now a 'Welcome' tab included on the left hand side menu. This will become the page that all of our visitors see initially when they first arrive at your Like Page.
14. We can now go to our new Welcome tab and create some content for our Welcome page. Click on the Welcome tab to get Welcome Page screen.
15. We will come back to this page - so leave this internet explorer window open for now.
Step 5: Creating Content for Your Welcome/Landing Page
To create this content I use a company called Squarespace. Squarespace is a hosted web building tool that makes it very easy to create your own high quality web site(s). We are going to use it to create some HTML code to input into our Welcome Tab for our Facebook Like Page.
Note: You do not have to use Squarespace; there are many tools for doing this. What we are trying to achieve here is to create some content using a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. This enables you to create content very easily - just typing in your copy (text) and inserting pictures, video, forms, et cetera, just the way that you would using Microsoft Word. Using these tools (or applications) you can then choose to view the HTML version of what you have created. You can then copy and paste this HTML code into your Welcome Page on Facebook and the Welcome Page will be created.
1. Once your Welcome Page content has been created in your WYSIWYG editor and you have viewed and copied the HTML version of that content, we are ready to past that HTML content into the Facebook Like Page Welcome tab.
2. We can then go back to the Facebook Welcome page that you should still have open (if not - don't worry, just go back to Facebook and open the Welcome page again).
3. Then right-click with your mouse and paste the HTML code into the top box from the two in the Facebook Welcome page editor.
4. You can then see the HTML code in the Welcome Page box.
5. Then click the 'Save and view tab' button to save what we have.
6. Then click on view your tab as a fan (or as a non-fan; it does not matter at this point).
7. You will then be able to see your new Welcome page as your visitors will.
8. We can still add more content in the form of pictures and video to make it more appealing, but the basic technical techniques have been covered here now.
Step 6 - Adjusting Settings For Your Welcome Page.
We now need to set our Like Page so that whenever a new visitor comes to our Like Page, they see the Welcome Page first.
1. From the 'Get Started' page click on the Edit Page button.
2. You will then see the 'Manage Permissions' page.
3. Currently the default Landing Tab will be set to 'Wall'.
4. Select the drop-down menu and change the option to 'Welcome'.
5. The Default Landing Tab is now set to 'Welcome'.
6. You can then click on 'View Page' to exit from the edit mode.
7. You can then navigate around your Like Page by using the tabs on the left of the page.
8. Each time you click on the Welcome page you will see the HTML version of the page. You just need to click on the 'Save and view tab' to see the page as your visitors will see it.
9. And view tab as a non-fan.
10. It is now possible to use a WYSIWYG/HTML editor (like Squarespace) to add further content to your Welcome page.
