Profitable Blogging - How to Make Your Blog Popular

It is entirely possible to make your full-time income exclusively from blogging. In its initial stages, start-up blogs can take a lot of time to develop. When a blog is started, it will have very little content, very few readers, and no advertising revenue. How is it that some full-time bloggers make six figures purely from blogging and have tens of thousands of loyal readers? It is the result of months and even years of continuous hard work plus a few more factors, some of which will be outlined in this article.
There are many ways to monetize a blog. The most common ways are to place ads from networks like Google AdSense or Bidvertiser or to make affiliate sales through Amazon or ClickBank. Once your blog becomes widely read, you'll start getting interest from people wanting to buy advertising space on your blog. Selling advertising, from banners of all sizes to text links, is a great way to make money from your blog because it provides a solid consistent monthly income.
All the above mentioned ways to make money with your blog can be extremely profitable, but even the highest converting banner ad would not make you money if you didn't have a popular blog. There is no special number of readers or RSS feed subscribers that you blog needs before it can be considered popular. There are certain things you can do in order to make your blog popular and to speed up its growth.
When you build a blog with the intention to make money from it, you are essentially building a business. By installing the blog on your own domain and populating it with some initial content, you are building your business' foundation. Every time you add a new post, you are slowly building your business. As your business grows and as you post more content on your blog, more and more people will become aware of your blog. How fast your blog grows depends on a couple things: the effort you put in and how much your readers like it.
People like to learn new things, but they also like controversy and humor. If you are able to have a mix of these things, your posts will not only provide a lesson, but it will also be enjoyable to read and will therefore be more likely to bring the reader back for the next post.
People also like to voice their opinions. If you engage your readers to interact with fellow readers and yourself, you will be creating a community which encourages discussion and will therefore increase the likelihood of people returning over and over again.
Lastly, encourage your readers to share your posts with friends and make it easy to do so as well. Having an informative yet controversial post will definitely spark discussion. This will attract new visitors to your blog post because everybody has an opinion. At the end of your post, give the reader a few options to share the post. A common method of sharing blog posts is through Twitter. You can create a custom tweet for your readers to retweet which invites followers on Twitter to check out this cool blog post. By making the post fun and worthwhile to read and by making it easy for readers to share the post with others, your blog will eventually become popular, and with popularity will come greater opportunities for revenue.
