How To Make Money With Facebook

How are people making money with social media? Some have generated millions of dollars and built their entire business on the social media platform!
I started a small business over a year ago in late 2009 generating myself money with Facebook! But how do you ask? Well I will tell you what I did and what I have done to make money. I will be clear that my passion was never really about creating a massive business around social media, however, what I created and teach gives value and helps other business grow. Which you should always keep in mind; always follow your heart and passion.
I began my journey of internet marketing in August of 2009. I joined a training program created by my mentor and coach Jonathan Budd and naturally when I was online I was also on Facebook connecting and communicating with my friends and meeting new people. Through the training that I invested in, I was taught how to communicate, manage and talk on Facebook. I was so impressed by the simple thought that FacebookFacebookactually can create a MASSIVE income for people, I just wasn't confident that I could...
Still shy and a bit unsure of my marketing capabilities I saw the local gym that I go to had created a fan page, but were doing things quite wrong and had their page set up in a poor way. I simply suggested to them that they make some changes and in turn they said "why don't you do it for us and we'll pay you?" Making money with Facebook became very real to me at that moment!
I simply put together a small outline and plan for them and they were in. Naturally a few weeks later they began to tell other local businesses about what I was doing for them and my "little suggestion" turned into a very nice additional income!
#1. Create your own Facebook Consulting Business. Set up, manage, and offer to teach people how to set up and manage their Facebook accounts. Facebook advertising is a lot like sex as a teen, everyone is doing it but no one knows how.
#2. Promote Your Existing Business On Facebook. BUT....There is a VERY important rule to remember when you are promoting your business or service on Facebook. This is the 9/10 rule. Out of every 10 posts you create, 9 should be informative on your business, inspirational, funny, and personal (people like to know your human), THE 10TH post can be some sort of promotion of your product or service.
#3. Advertise With Facebook Advertising. Facebook has a very powerful advertising platform, as a bonus, its actually pretty easy to understand and navigate. The idea is create an ad promoting your business or service, create a headline, upload a picture, write a short offer, choose your target market, choose pay per click or impressions, then boom your up and running!
These are just three simple and proven ways to make money with Facebook, I am sure there different avenues to generate cash using social media, but I know for a fact that these work.

Make Money With Twitter - Five Simple Steps That Can Help Anyone Use Twitter To Make Money

If you want to make money with Twitter, you know that you're far from alone. In fact, a search on Google for the term "make money with Twitter" returns 63 million results (as of this writing).
Of course, that does not mean that there are 63 million ways to make money with Twitter. Nor does it mean that all of the ways to make money with Twitter will actually make you money. On the contrary: most "how to make money with Twitter" methods make money only for the people selling the method, not for the people buying and using the method.
That's why you will probably find this article refreshing. Because it outlines a simple, five-step process that, if you follow it closely, can actually help you make money with Twitter and not cost you a dime in the process.
Get Familiar With The Various Twitter Advertising Programs
One of the best ways to make money with Twitter is to look into the many different companies that will pay you - on either a per-Tweet or per-click basis - to promote the products and services of their advertisers by Tweeting out advertising messages to your Twitter followers.
Some of the more popular such companies include MyLikes, ValueTweets, and Sponsored Tweets.
Find Out Which Products and Services Pay The Most
Another critical step in your journey to make money with Twitter is to focus on finding highly commercial products and services, those that advertisers are willing to pay top dollar for you to promote.
While you may be able to find this out simply by reviewing offers other people signed up to the same systems are promoting, you may also want to run some of the more obviously commercial products and services through Google's free keyword selection tool to find out which ones have the highest levels of competition.
As a rule, the higher the competition for a keyword, the more an advertiser is willing to pay for it.
Look For Targeted Twitterers To Engage
If you're going to make money with Twitter, you need to make sure that you develop a following of Twitterers who are highly likely to want the types of products and services you'll be promoting. Otherwise, you'll be promoting into a vacuum.
You'll need to use Twitter's free site search facility, or a paid application, to help you find people whose profile data and/or Tweets include the keywords people generally use to describe or search for the types of products and services you'll be promoting.
Get A Lot Of Followers
Regardless of whether you get paid to Tweet or you get paid when people click, you're going to need some big numbers in order to really make money with Twitter. And we're not talking about hundreds or even thousands. We're talking about tens of thousands.
This means that you're either going to have to outsource this part of the process or you're going to have to invest in some Twitter marketing software.
Sign Up For Some Advertising Programs And Wait For The Offers To Come In
After you've developed a decent following - which you could realistically do by outsourcing or by using the right software application in a matter of weeks - it's finally time to sign up for some of the programs you checked out at the beginning and wait for the offers to come in.
And if you've done things right up to this point, the offers will come in and you will begin to get a taste of what it's like to make money with Twitter.
There's one more thing you're going to want to do...

Is It Really Possible To Make Money Using Social Media and Web 2.0?

Can social networking really assist your company in developing it's brand or promoting the products you have? With many more individuals utilizing web 2.0 sites on a daily basis, there should be a method to turn followers into purchasers. I believe its feasible with a few easy methods. Think about the power of social networking as communicator, leader, and sales person. Follow these guidelines for effective social media results.
Social networking is all about building a dialog with like-minded people or individuals who are inside your target audience. Social media has impact when it's focused on the market segment you serve. If you're in the show marketing and you're attempting to build a following within the area of automotive, you are setting yourself up for failure.
Start by having a well documented and comprehensive social media plan. If you would like to use social media for marketing and promotional purposes, you really need to have a strategy. Starting to post comments or creating a profile is a fantastic concept but certainly not sufficient for on the web success. To succeed you ought to define objectives, resources, and responsible parties up front, before you being working on your social media accounts. Doing so improves your chances of generating good results dramatically.
Share what you know. Each of us has an region or discipline that we know something about. If you have a hobby, career, or region of interest, then focus on sharing that which you know with others. By focusing your efforts on that which you know the best, your passion comes through and keeps other people engaged. This creates much more value for potential followers and keeps your loyal audience coming back for more.
Communicate on a consistent basis. One of the most essential aspects of social networking is having a dialog regularly. You must commit some time to posting on social media related websites. The minimum is a few times per week but you should ideally be posting new content a couple of times per day. By staying in front of other people regularly, you make certain that the conversation continues to grow. The more you put in to your social media marketing the more you'll get back. Communicate frequently and consistently to be successful.
Invite others to take part in your conversation. By inviting other people to be involved in your subject matter, you can create meaningful conversation. If those who're interested inside your topic have an opportunity to participate, they can feel a sense of ownership and may give more. Social networking is all about conversation that is two ways. Solicit topics and questions from your audience and maintain them to keep engagement levels high.
Do not sell. Here's the key to effective social networking. If all you plan to do is promote your products, you are in for a surprise. Individuals using social networking don't wish to be sold. Rather, produce meaningful content, let others follow and interact with you, share your expertise. To sell with social media, you initially have to sell yourself. After a short time, others will try what you suggest and take your recommendations to heart.
Using social networking for generating good marketing results is possible. Nevertheless, you will need to walk a fine line between offering content of value, communicating regularly, and mentioning products or services. Your greatest bet is to produce a following first, create value, and only offer suggestions that are relevant to the dialog. Make a social media plan that can assist you and follow through each day. Social networking ought to be a substantial part of your marketing strategy.

Do What You Like and Earn Money With Social Media Jobs

A lot of people today spend their free time just surfing the web. With the many places you can go online, it is a truly entertaining way to kill time. However, if you want to do something productive without interfering with your down time, you can also take advantage of the web to make money. Taking on social media jobs is one of the best way to do this. This kind of "employment" will help you make money without sacrificing your time on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
If you're well acquainted with social networks, you will be able to find yourself a suitable candidate for these jobs. You will need to know how these sites work, though, so you can be able to really cash in on such sites. Luckily, this is pretty easy, so you don't need to worry about anything. The best thing about it is that you don't have to bore yourself to death just to earn online, as you'll be in a website you actually like and use.
Most people log on to the web for a few hours at a time. After a long day, one likes to just relax and look at stuff on the internet as it is filled with tons of interesting things. It may seem pointless and a waste of time to some, though, which would force them to look for ways to make such wandering a bit more purposeful. With social media jobs, though, you can do just that. You can spend your time on a social networking website and still make money from it.
This money making opportunity is a very attractive one for many. It can help you earn without having to be on a boring website or do a great amount of work. You can Tweet or post Facebook status very easily while on the job and you're even getting paid for it. It is truly one of those things that will let you do something you love to earn.
However, like any other job, there's a couple of things you need to keep in mind. For one, you need to be capable of running the show. You need to have a good knowledge on handling a social media account, especially a professional one. You need to know how you can make use of every feature of the website to your advantage. You also need to have some basic knowledge of marketing, especially since you'll most likely handle an account with products they need to sell.

3 Things You Should Never Do When Trying To Make Money With Facebook

Many would be entrepreneurs are looking to leverage the potential social media in particular Facebook has to offer in order to help them build their business and create brand awareness. Unfortunately many fail to gain anything from their social media marketing exploits, are you one of them?
Many marketers are now using Facebook to promote their product or opportunity as one of their primary marketing strategies. Many have no clue of how to go about harnessing the massive potential Facebook has for generating business. In my opinion there are three things you must never do when try to make money with Facebook.
The first area to look at is your profile picture, if you are using your Facebook page for business reasons you must have a clean looking profile picture that shows you in a good light. A picture of you out on the town Saturday night, ten beers down, will not cut it for business purposes. You must also avoid the use of cartoon images or avatars as your profile picture. Your main aim is to come across as a human being. People want to see you for who you are.
A second thing to be concerned with when trying to make money with Facebook is what you are talking about when you are updating your status or communicating with people. Facebook was created as a medium to network and interact with many different people, and this should be a cornerstone of your efforts when using the site to promote yourself or product. You will come into contact with many different people so it is wise to never talk about religion, sex, politics, money, how amazing your product is or how it can change people's lives. You are there to build relationships, it is very easy to offend someone when you mention any of the above, potentially losing you a follower and potential buyer.
Lastly and I think the most important thing you must take on board when trying to make money with Facebook is to never ever spam your link onto people's wall, or into their inbox. Give them information about what it is you do when they ask for it, not beforehand. We all hate to be sold to and it is no different when online. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of people who are out there trying to push their product onto people. People will come to ask you about what it is you do after you have built a relationship with them and they come to know like and trust you. That is how you will make money with Facebook.

7 Simple Strategies to Make Money From Social Media

Social Media is essentially social networking. Social networking allows individuals to set up personal profiles, interact with other users, and share certain aspects about their lives. For me, Social Media is a business tool. It is an Internet marketer's dream. Using Social Media to make money can be very, very lucrative. The amount of potential customers is extraordinary. You too can easily make money from Social Media just by following 7 simple strategies.
Get started
First of all, get started. If you think you don't know how or you don't have the time, think again. Nothing will happen until you take the first step and get started. Begin by creating accounts on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and any other social media you want to use. If you don't know how, find out. If you don't have time, schedule it in as part of your marketing plan.
Promote on Facebook
Create a Facebook Page. Whether you are a business owner, an Internet marketer, an organization or a famous person, you need to create a page. Pages are designed specifically for companies, organizations, or other big names looking to capture and engage with an audience. When you have a page, it is completely customisable, it can provide statistics, people can become "fans" and you can add apps including discussion boards, shopping carts and more.
Use Twitter
Twitter is a powerhouse. Today, more than ever, businesses are using its power to meet, engage, and convert millions of people around the world. Businesses are using it in many different ways, but all for the same result: conversion and engagement.
Get a blog
In the past decade or so, blogs have grown tremendously in popularity. They are much more versatile than "stagnant" websites and allow an amount of flexibility never seen before. You see, blogs are all about connecting with an audience - your potential customer.
Promote on YouTube
YouTube is very similar to other social networking sites - you are able to reach large audiences and interact with others around the world. However, there is one key difference: YouTube is a video-based site which allows users to interact with one another through video recordings. There are many other methods for going about social media (messaging, comments, etc). However, this has showed to be the most popular and impressive way to do it.
Engage your audience
It's been estimated that about 95% of all the companies in the world are using social networking sites to promote their product and/or service. As a small business owner, you can use this to your advantage. You see, by growing an army of loyal followers you are able to aggressively target and market to those individuals. Not only is this cost effective but it should also convert very, very well.
Integrate Social Media into your website
Some businesses believe that having accounts is enough to generate cash flow and a loyal audience. This is only half true. When you incorporate social media on your site, you are essentially doubling your chances of gathering people.
You have now learned why you should use social media as a business tool and use it to start making money. This doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to make millions of dollars overnight. However, there are plenty of individuals who started with nothing on the Internet and have now amassed a money-making empire. This goes to show that ANYBODY can do it as long as they follow the 7 strategies.

Make Money Online With Social Media and Social Networking Websites

Making money online with social media and social networking is often looked at with mysticism, confusion, doubt, and misguidance. We will go over the numerous principles to capitalizing on these powerful mediums and why so many other techniques often fail. First we must understand what social media and networking sites are, and what they are not.
According to Wikipedia social media is "activities that integrate technology, telecommunications and social interaction"; social networking is very similar stating "facilitates communication between a group of individuals or organizations....shared values." The most obvious word the two share is social; the goal of these websites is to bring people together in a relevant, organized fashion, to better transfer their knowledge and passions. They are not identical but the principles are the same: people sharing knowledge, organization, shared interests. We will use the term social media to represent both fields.
Chances are you have read somewhere to focus on niche marketing. While being in a niche is a solid business plan, understand that people are people, and like people, we all are more alike than dissimilar. Do not miss out on the opportunity to reach new audiences for fear of being different; people have broad interests, personalities, and "light bulbs" that go off when they see something alien to them. If you, like many marketers focus only on niches you will pigeon hole your own growth. Now, if we marketed to our known target market we would have a finite pool (albeit enormous) but we would be missing out on people that did NOT actively know they wanted to try our products/website. The idea works the same way as "impulse buying". Native Americans did not know Columbus came by boats because they did not "see" the boats; it wasn't in their realm of consciousness. It was only after they were exposed to them did they "see them". Marketing works the same way; let your product/service enter the minds of the masses and you will gain new audiences.
Now making money online is not all about you (scary isn't it?). You are in a relationship with the internet, the social media site you are utilizing, and the people within it. How would you like it if your girlfriend made you mow the lawn, cook her dinner and satisfy her needs and told you good night? You would feel used at the very least, and ready to explode (with anger ha). Now on the other hand if she cooked you dinner while you mowed the lawn and gave you a back massage you would both feel pretty good. Mutual benefit is the only way true relationships work. Never make the mistake of trying to get something out of someone for nothing. As Earl nightingale has taught us mutual benefit is the only real way for prosperity. When approaching a social medium, whether a forum, a bookmarking oriented site such as digg or reddit, or a large network such Facebook, MySpace or orkut you must enter with the mindset of contributing positively to the community. In fact, making money online is the last step to becoming successful. You will only make money online once you have become successful and contributing to others success.
Social media is not a place to drop as many links and spam as many people as possible. If you treat it as such you will be wasting your time. Behind social media are real life people like yourself. Just think how you would want to be treated. Keep in mind however this does not mean you can personally connect with each person. I love interacting with people but it is just not possible on a mass scale depending on your niche or product. To counteract this you must be as open and honest about your intentions and what you hope to bring to the community. An example of positively contributing to Digg would be to compile a list of the best of X, and truly taking your time to make it relevant to your product/service, or creating a Facebook group to raise awareness of your business with quality content.
Action. There are thousands of social media websites. To start you should sign up to about 5 of them and contribute your knowledge and add friends. If you contribute to each social medium (daily progress) you will have a great standing within the community in just 30 days. The more active you are the quicker the process becomes. Then after this time you will be able to let your friends know and others within the community about your shiny new red model cars for sale, or whatever you are selling. This isn't a guarantee of success, but if you sign up and tell everyone about your shiny new red model cars before some foreplay you will be kicked out of the metaphorical bed, aka social medium. Remember to utilize niche mediums but not to limit yourself, contribute your knowledge in a relevant way to expose your product, make friends, patience, passion, and determination. Not everyone has the budget to run a huge website but since the advent of blogger and other amazing services all you need is the willingness to share your passions and you can turn a "simple blog" into a powerhouse of informative content that other networks recognize for its professionalism and a trusted website backed by a real person.

Why You Won't Make Money With Social Media Marketing

If you're even remotely serious about marketing on the web then you have probably heard from various "marketing gurus" that you have to "embrace social media" like it's the second coming or something. You've probably heard insane stats thrown around like "150 million users on Facebook" or "60 million users on MySpace". Although these are very impressive figures, they are not entirely accurate.
The reason for this is that the people that frequent Facebook, MySpace and other sites are logging on to connect with friends and loved ones. To be blunt, they aren't interested in what you are selling. Blasting people with ad messages on Facebook or MySpace makes about as much sense as cold-calling a backgammon club and delivering a sales pitch. That's why purchasing ads on Facebook is so cheap, because nobody is clicking on them!
Now, that is not to say that you shouldn't use Social Networking for your business. By having a presence on sites like Digg, Facebook, and MySpace, you can establish a connection with some of your potential customers or clients. I realize that what I just said may sound like I'm contradicting myself but hear me out. You don't need to pummel your fans or friends with sales pitches or special offers. Setup a page, and just put content up there.
Just do it for free, no costs, no links to sales pages, just put the content up there for free. Give them something they would like and they'll stick around. The key is to have conversations with them. Think of it as you being at a barbecue or a large dinner with your friends. If you own a Book Store, then post some of the books that you like. Or you can post a book of the month.
The downside to this is that you can't really measure the ROI. But then again, most advertising money is wasted anyways so it's not something that should prevent you from engaging your clients, customers or fans.

How to Make Money With Social Media Sites

Another source of revenue
By dipping your toe into the concept of how to monetize social media sites, you are delving into a relatively new yet expanding network of advertising that can reap monetary benefits for its users. When we talk about monetizing, we are referring to the idea that one can use their own social media network, such as Twitter and Facebook, as sources of extra revenue.
This is different than building a network of friends or followers and promoting an idea, product, or service that you are attempting to sell. When we are talking about how to monetize social media sites, we mean using the network you have built to post advertisements for other venues, businesses, or individuals. It is the idea of putting that impressive network to serious advantage for your own bottom line.
While still relatively new, there are more instances of people learning how to monetize social media sites, especially celebrities. For instance, Bob Villa charges nearly $2,500 for sponsored 'Tweets.' This means that a business or individual can post an ad in the form of a tweet through Bob Villa's Twitter account. This amount of money can seem incredibly steep for a brief, 140 character advertisement, but considering the number of followers (or subscribers) he has in his Twitter family, the sponsor knows precisely how many people will receive their message.
Balancing act
When you begin to learn how to monetize social media sites, you begin to realize that there needs to be a balance established in order to both maintain your current list of friends or followers and at the same time make it worthwhile for a business or individual to want to advertise through your network. It should be readily apparent that you shouldn't expect to gain any serious interest in advertising on a network that is new and has few followers.
One thing that many people don't appreciate is spam. Spam is the term initially coined (from the Monty Python movies) to define mass email campaigns. These are those emails that fill up your inbox that have nothing to do with anything you asked to subscribe to. Spam now includes the concept of posting incessant advertisements on these social media sties through status updates or Twitter posts.
It can be tempting, of course, to want to soak up as much ad revenue as possible once you have built that precious network, but if it is overdone, you will see the number of followers begin to diminish as people grow weary of being inundated with too many ads.
Advertisers, of course, want their name or product in front of the buying audience as often as possible, so there needs to be a balance between promotion and information your users find useful.
Choosing the right advertisers
One thing that is so important when deciding how to monetize social media sites is determining what products or services to promote. For instance, Bob Villa wouldn't expect too many of his followers to be interested in feminine products. Not only would this be a waste of valuable resources for the advertiser, but it will confuse and oftentimes irritate his followers who will tend to be predominantly males whose interest is in home improvement.
If you set up a social media site to target people looking to make money from home, then a majority of your followers may be stay-at-home moms who might be interested in products that will make their life easier. More likely, though, your best source of revenue to monetize your social media sites would have to do with other options to make extra income from home.
When you begin to investigate how to monetize social media sites, ideas will begin to develop. Look to big name celebrities as a guide for what can be done and how to best approach it. Think about the people whom you follow and how you react when you are inundated with post upon post upon post by that one individual talking about the same thing. Then you will know why it's critical to step back, take a moment, and then proceed with some measure of balance.
Learning how to monetize social media sites is another source in a list of powerful tools available for the ambitious entrepreneur who wants to put his or her financial independence fully within their control.

5 Ways to Make Money Using Social Media

Twitter. Facebook. Delicious. These are all examples of social media, and I bet as soon as you hear these words, you can add at least another three sites to the list off the top of your head. But what is social media?
Social media is a type of online media that expedites conversation as opposed to traditional media, which delivers content but doesn't allow readers/viewers/listeners to participate in the creation or development of the content.
This are five ways in which one can use the social media..
1. Share Everything:
Now that you know, you're chiming in on related conversations, you're thinking outside the box, and doing your homework, it's the right time to start talking about what you're doing on your blog (try WordPress), on Twitter, at conferences and events, and anywhere else that makes sense.
The point of sharing everything is to make your customers, clients, partners, friends, and even competitors aware that you're always accessible, that you're learning from your mistakes, that you want to involve and encourage community participation, and that you're doing all this with the same enthusiasm and passion that motivated you to start your business in the first place.
2. Get creative:
Once you have the basics covered, you can start experimenting with outside the box customer service ideas. Since the point is to connect with customers, your social media customer service strategy should be a natural extension of your business, so feel free to get innovative but just do so in ways that make sense for your business.
To get creative, take inspiration from the best and make the ideas your own. A number of big brands like Southwest, Jet Blue, Zappos, Starbucks, and Ford have turned to Twitter for offering impressive customer service and providing
Twitter-only deals. Watch what they're doing if you need ideas, what you'll notice about each big business doing it right is that they aren't afraid to take risks.
3. 1. Always Be in the Know:
Ask any community, social media, or branding expert what you should do first, and every single one of them will tell you to listen. It may sound cliché, but the reality is that you need to understand the landscape of the space you're contributing to before you do anything else.
So, for a customer service strategy that leverages social media, the first thing you can and should do is set up a tracking and listening system that works for your business and hinges around mentions of your product, services, and those of your competitors.
Given that Twitter is just one of many places for mass social expression, you can't rely just on Twitter search services to do your work for you, though it definitely can help. You can grab the RSS feed for your favorite search queries from Twitter Search, or install TweetDeck, a Twitter desktop client, to keep an ever present eye on Twitter's always updating stream. Even if you're averse to tweeting, you should set up a few columns with custom search queries and filters for everything involving your business. You'll receive automatic notices every time there are new tweets that match your results
4.Talk Back:
This is the simplest method of customer service that's often under utilized. Now that you're using tools to stay in the know, you should invest time in using that information to put out customer service fires and address business related matters. This isn't a blanket invitation to tweet your marketing material or trash a competitor in blog comments to make your business look better. The vocal contributions you make on behalf of your business should always be informative and helpful otherwise they appear spammy and will ultimately make your company look bad.
Simple, honest, and straightforward responses on social platforms like Twitter, FriendFeed, and blogs is always the right way to go, especially if you're responding to something negative about your company or your product. Make it clear that you're open to helping, make your contact information available, and always be genuine.
5. Do Your Research:
When your customers are your clients and you have sales or lead driven business, stellar customer service goes hand-in-hand with how much you know about each client and their individual needs. Thankfully, you can harness the social web for timely information that can keep you educated about your clients, their companies, and all related news items.
For this purpose, take a look at Gist, a free web-based tool in private beta for power networkers. Essentially the site combines your email communications, your Outlook calendar, and your Facebook and LinkedIn connections to give you a view of your contacts like no other. Each contact and each company has its own profile-like view within Gist that includes contact info, news mentions, email exchanges, and other related data so sales and marketing types can effortlessly research leads and existing clients to better cement important relationships.

How to Make Money With Social Media

YouTube, Facebook, MySpace & Twitter are here for good. Due to the advances on the internet and the evolution of social media giants such as Facebook and YouTube, the direct sales and Network Marketing industries will never be the same. The big question is "Can you use social media to make money?", and the answer is YES! Absolutely. Actually there are thousands of people who are out there utilizing social media to earn a living and they are doing quite well. It's really very easy when you know and understand how to do it. If you's like to make money using social media there is a process of steps that you need to follow. And more importantly there are two very distinct rules that you must follow at all times.
(1) Every person counts, don't think or guess anything about anyone.
(2) If you badger and/or spam people you will lose friends, credibility and potential customers.
Spamming is a huge mistake, and if you do it you will fail, you will get the reputation as a spammer and people will stop following or being your friend. The last thing you want to be is invisible, because that means you aren't making any money. There are lots of social media websites out there but we are only going to focus on the key ones. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. These are the top dogs you should divert your attention to. But before we get started though let's cover the number one No-No that could affect your ability to make money using social media. When you send out friend request don't just send a blank request and a link to your website. If I don't know you, and you send me emails and/or request with the intention of selling me something, then you are guilty of spamming.
What you want to do is introduce yourself, strike up a conversation and find some common ground with those you are reaching out to. If you bum rush your prospect with an offer, they are going to run away. Let's talk briefly about Twitter, this website is relatively new on the scene, however Twitter is definitely a heavy hitter. First of all the way Twitter works is you can see what other people are doing through short messages called tweets. If you wish to connect with someone you can choose to follow that person. By doing this whenever that person sends out a message or tweet you will receive it. Generally when you follow someone they normally follow you back; however you have full control as to who you follow. Now the beauty of Twitter is some people have thousands of followers and their list of followers is completely open to everyone. So you have the opportunity to connect with just about anyone. The content you decide to post will benefit you greatly if it has value.
DO NOT join Twitter and just start spamming your links all over the place. People will unfollow you and most if not all of your post will be ignored. Remember that first of all Twitter is a social network, so you should be communicating and connecting with people. If you cannot think of anything to talk about here is a website to help you out stufftotweet.com, this site shows some of the top stories on just about everything.
Of all the social websites out there Facebook is KING! Facebook is an absolute goldmine and if you are using social media to market your business and you don't have a face book account then shame on you. You are losing possibly thousands of dollars. The keys to success no matter which social media tool you decide to use is making yourself visible and providing value. No one cares what you are selling, people think in terms of "What can you do for me?" Plain and simple. YouTube is probably my second choice as the saying goes a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video must be worth a million.

The Single Most Important Ingredient in Making Money on Social Media

As a business owner, why are you on social media in the first place? Or if you're not yet on it, why are you thinking about it?
To make more money in your business!
Am I right?
Specifically, you want to sell your stuff to the people in your networks. But two big things trip most people up. First of all, they try too hard to sell. That does not work on social media. The other thing people often do wrong is they muddle their personal and their professional goals.
Now let me be clear. There's nothing wrong with having people in your networks who are friends, as well as people who you want to do business with. In fact, I encourage it. What you need to keep separate is your GOALS. Let me explain.
The best way to sell stuff on social media... is to hardly sell at all. Social media is NOT the place for long-form copy, ads, and hard sales pitches. It IS the place for you to be yourself. To talk about what interests you, as a person and as a business owner. By sharing interesting tidbits from your life and from your business, your friends, fans and followers will come to know you, like you and trust you - and then, of course, buy from you. And it just so happens that this is exactly the same kinds of things your friends are looking to hear from you as well!
But if the only people in your network are people who would never buy from you, then this technique won't work at all!
So one of the best ways to shine head and shoulders above your competition, and start making real money on Facebook, is to properly identify your target customers. "Target customer" is a marketing term that means a person who's more likely than average to have an interest in your products and services. No matter what kind of business you're in, or what kind of marketing you do, it's important to know who your target market is.
And if you answer the question by saying "Anybody who..." you're most likely casting too wide of a net. You need to be able to say if your customer is male or female, do they have kids, what are their hobbies or interests, what geographic area do they live in, how affluent are they, etc. Having this understanding is important in any kind of marketing, and social media is no exception. In fact, it is only by having this understanding that you will be able to effectively FIND your target customer on social media.

Can You Really Make Money With Social Media?

Are you using social media in your business? Not are you using Facebook, or Twitter and going on there while you're at work and playing games or making random posts.
The question is: are you using social media to build your business and to increase your profits?
You absolutely can make money with these platforms and you should if you're a small business owner or entrepreneur.
You want to think of social networks like you do the other types of media you use in your marketing. You have direct mail, television, radio, internet, and other media outlets you should be using in your marketing.
Why would you think you can't use these media outlets to market your business, and profit from it?
One important thing you want to remember, in using Facebook or Twitter or LinkedIn or any media in your marketing, it requires you to be strategic.
You can't just put your name and your logo up on the social networking sites and expect something to happen. Unlike other marketing venues you might be using that cost you hard dollars, your biggest investment in using social media in your marketing is your time.
You need to make posts on the social media platforms you've chosen to use. But you can't just post any old thing. You have to make posts that are pertinent to your business.
For example, maybe you have the answer to a question people frequently ask you in business. So post that question, attach the link to your website or to your squeeze page for "The Number One Way To Solve... " or "The Number One Secret To... " or "The Number One Reason For... " whatever the answer to the question is. The key is to make sure your answer and the content you provide is worth the prospect giving you their name and email address.
One of the strategies for using social media is to build your prospect list. One of the ways you do this is by offering people some great content in exchange for their name and email address. That way, you can contact them in the future and market to them so they stay aware of all your offerings.
Here's a critical thing to remember - whatever you do has to be measureable.
One of the easiest ways to make your social media measureable is to simply have different links in your data management system for each social networking site you're marketing on. You don't necessarily have to have different pages, just different URLs. So when your clients come to your site, leave their name and email address, they're tagged as having come from whichever social media site they came from.
Now, you can measure. Because now each time that client makes a purchase, you know if they came to you from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or whichever networking site you're using.
So stop wasting your time on your social media sites and start making the time you invest in social media pay dividends.

Using The Big 3 To Make Money With Social Media

For those that are selling something, be it a product or service, online or offline, should use social media to help drive in additional income.
Why? For one, it is free with an option to pay advertisement. Even if you don't know what to do with the Big 3 that I'm going to talk about, it is very easy to learn. Kids in elementary school uses them on a daily basis. What are the Big 3? They are Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Most of you probably already use them on a daily basis. But the question is how to use them for your business?
I Will Start With Facebook.
Facebook has a presence in nearly every country with nearly a billion followers. With smart advertising, you could reach a sizable portion of these followers. Creating an account is easy. All you need is an email address which is also free. Once you have an account invite everybody on your email contact list. Then invite anybody that you know or don't know. The idea is to have as many friends as you can have. Once you have these friends, you need to start posting all of the good things that you can provide the masses.
If you have a blog, put the post on there. If you are having a sale, put the sale up. The thing NOT to do is put 1000 posts a day about your business. People will think your annoying and stop following you. What you want is to create "viral sustainability". You want people to share your post and in turn their friends will see it and comment, share or like it. Causing their friends to do the same.
The Next Thing Is Twitter.
Twitter is the same, but you only have 140 characters at a time to say whats on your mind. It's free and all you need is an email address to start an account. Follow as much people as you can. With this you should add value to your account by tweeting something that is worthy of retweeting. Tweeting is probably the easiest of the Big 3 to make money with social media. With this, you want as much people retweeting your tweets. Creating viral sustainability. The more eyes on what you have to offer, the better.
YouTube Is the Last of the Big 3.
Setting up a YouTube channel is easy and free. You guessed it, all you need is an email account. If you don't know, YouTube is now owned by Google. So having a presence here, will only raise your chances of promoting you stuff. This could be a little more nerve racking because it is video. It is a little hard at first, but once you have done it a few times, you will get comfortable in front of the camera. The only way to get over it is to actually do it.
In the beginning, you are going to feel the urge to make it "perfect", when it doesn't have to be. It also doesn't have to be 10 minutes long either. If what you have to say is going to be long, you can break it up into 2, 3 or more parts. Making it into a video series. People's attention spans aren't as long as you would hope them to be. So keeping your videos, short, sweet and to the point works best. Especially in the beginning.
This strategy works very well because once you make this video, you can spread it through twitter and Facebook. Killing multiple birds with one stone.
When I started in this realm of internet marketing, I was VERY reluctant to use Facebook or add people that I don't know on Facebook. But I wanted succeed, so I had to get a little uncomfortable to be comfortable in the long run. I was thinking that my friends would reject what I was putting out there. That was my initial thinking. It is not anymore. Once I got over this little hurdle, I was able to use social media to make money on a consistent basis. I have seen other people do it, but it wasn't drilled into my head until I got the proper training. What you read here is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to making money with social media. If you want to learn more, and I know you do, you need to click the link below to get started.
I personally use the Big 3 to earn an income. I use this as one of the tools to promote my business. I am not the only one that's using this style of marketing to earn a substantial income. There are countless number of people online doing what I'm doing, why not be one of them?
Buy that fancy car. Buy that big house.
