How To Create A Profitable Social Media Marketing Strategy

So you've decided to create a social media marketing strategy for your online or offline company...
Congrats, you will have so much traffic and money come your way and all for free, except for the tsunami of hours invested on the front end. That's why setting up a actual strategy is so important! Without direction, purpose and a daily list of actions to take, needed to get you there, you will only end up with a lot of people liking you and no money to show for it...
Sucks huh?
First step is identifying what you want. Write down what you envision yourself receiving after 60 to 90 days of straight work.
Its OK to measure it in money...
Second, decide and establish exactly what your company does, the benefits and the advantages your product or service carries above your competitors. And you should be able to fit all of it in 110 characters or less.
Third, decide what type of view and relationship you want your audience to have with you. Loyalty, awareness, strong advocates or crazy cheerleaders... you decide!
Fourth, create one word that expresses who you are. For example when you think of Apple, most will say "innovation".
Do the same for your brand and getting your message across each time wont be so tough.
Fifth, create a plan so you seem human. You might have someone full time on staff handle this so the same personality shows through.
Social media marketing strategy is not built by robots and software but humans with personality. So if your a big company find a way to make yourself seem personable and small...
Lastly, create a way to measure your success.
If you have established what you want from the beginning you should be seeing some of the major factors coming together to get you there. If you don't, micro the problem out and reverse engineer what the daily steps are and what you need to keep track of to meet your big goals. A problem you might have is not enough traffic to your website. So in-turn, to make it measurable, you have to track the clicks you get from your profiles and messages to see if its working. Not enough traffic might just mean you need more links out there to generate more clicks, or more content for your friends and followers to read so they are able to click to your website.
