List Building Tips - 4 Effective Ways to Build a Profitable List Quickly

When potential clients land on your squeeze page and they opt in, it shows that they have some level of expectation from your offer. They may want more information before they can commit, or are interested in buying but want to make sure that they are dealing with a product provider who knows what they are talking about.
What you want to do as an internet marketer is to make sure that you keep growing this list by increasing the flow of targeted traffic to your squeeze page or site. It's a probability game, a sure science.
The more opt-ins you have, the more likely you are to generate higher sales. So how do you go about building a list that serves you? Here are some tips to guide you along:
List Building Tip # 1: Include Long Tail Keywords.
As you set about creating your squeeze page, include long tail keywords. Long tail keywords are keyword phrases that are more specific and generate targeted quality traffic, but on a lesser scale than ordinary keywords.
Let's say you are promoting bathtubs. "Bathtubs" will obviously be a keyword, but "corner bathtubs" would make it more descriptive and specific; because if someone is looking for corner bathtubs, the search engines would return fewer search results and you'll be among them.
Then think of it this way: most people who are looking for bathtubs are looking for a certain quality: what is the key quality of your tubs? What would someone looking for a corner bathtub look for exactly? In one or two words that is. Include that in your keyword phrase. You'll probably end up with something like "quality marble corner bathtubs."
But to eliminate any guesses and know the exact keywords that people are actually searching for online, use a keyword research tool such as the Google AdWords keyword tool.
Using this tool, you'll know how many people are searching for keywords related to your niche as well as the quantity of competitors who are paying for those keywords. The more the hits, the more you should work to refine your keywords to be more specific.
That's just an example, but the point here is that you must examine your product as critically as possible and come up with keywords that are completely descriptive of them. That gives you more chances of targeted hits and quality opt-ins, because people will find precisely what they are looking for.
List Building Tip # 2: Consider a Press Release.
They are not very common, but some people swear by them, and it's because they work.
There are ways to do press releases that make them more readable and less like obvious advertising. The secret is to make them sound like news. It will probably come from someone who has already purchased your product.
Let's say you are selling a work-from-home product. It has worked well for one of your clients. Get an interview with her - and that's your press release. Title it cleverly so that it gets attention. A good title could be "62-year old mom discovers automatic way to make 6 figures monthly."
With your link at the bottom, you'll have already arrested the attention of interested people who are highly likely to click on your link to find out more about this feature in the news. You can have several press releases targeted at different sections of the population.
Most important to remember is to make it sound like news and not an advertisement. The space won't cost you that much and the number of contacts you are likely to get will be worth it.
List Building Tip # 3: Give Free Value.
Building a list is about developing relationships. Somewhere along the way, someone figured that giving freebies is a great way to get people to opt in.
There are many resale rights products on the internet that have become so saturated they have lost their bonus value. So it is highly recommended that the creator of the product take the time out to create a "tantalizer."
Tantalize your clients to buy by offering them snippets of what they'll get on purchase. If you are selling treadmills, how about you put together a video of exercises that you can do on the specific treadmill, showing its benefits and how the treadmill works; and let customers get that for free? Before they even buy, that is.
Make it easy for them. "If you want to see how this treadmill would be great for you, download a free video here of exercises that you can do on it."
In the video, do exactly as you had promised: show the exercises, go one better and tell them the benefits of each exercise. It will build muscle, improve cardiovascular health, and keep you fit and lean.
Be creative about how you go about in pre-selling the actual product. You could put the ad right at the end, or put a buy link that they can click on while the video is running.
List Building Tip # 4: Give An Option To Forward To Friends.
This one works great. If you have an attractive squeeze page, a quality freebie, and an autoresponder sequence full of useful information, your subscribers are more likely to forward them to others who would benefit from the same information.
Make it easy for them to forward your message by putting a forward link or simply by asking them to forward to people they know. Allow them to forward to multiple people, and make it even more enticing by giving them something for free if they forward to a certain minimum.
Make sure that whatever you give is informational and subtly encourages them to get your product. Remember, everyone wants to feel like they are getting value - so give it before they ask for it.
There are more things you can do to build a killer list. Investigate and understand your options, and choose the ones that will make people want to opt-in willingly.
