Social Media Traffic Can Help Even the World's Worst Sites

Sure everyone likes to read good content and your website should be no different. But what good is great content if there is no one there to read it? None. However, thanks to social networking sites and social bookmarking, the one thing you can do with your great content is to share it with other people in a hurry.
This is a complete opposite to the old "build a website and they will come" viewpoint. Now, you generate the content and instead of placing it only on your site, you can now publish it to hundreds of social sites and bookmarking engines so that other people can see it where they visit, not where you want them to visit.
It is a manner of "word of mouth" advertising at its best. The process is simple. Just sign up for your favorite social sites and post content to them. Some of the best places to add your content to are Squidoo, Facebook, and Hubpages.
After you have added content to these sites you can bookmark them in your favorite bookmarking sites, such as Digg, Delicious, or StumbelUpon.
The better your content, the more people who are going to look at it on those sites. Those sites are already getting tens of thousands of hits daily. This means that your content is getting in front of thousands of potential readers every day. How many hits is your site getting? Likely none if your pretty new.
So stop trying to bring traffic to your content and start bringing your content to where the traffic is. These sites are free, highly rated by Google, and have no shortage of avid readers. Your best option is to put great content for them to read there and entice them to come by your own site if they liked what you had to say.
