Create Your Own Blog Site Without Hiring Someone Else

A number of people think that the online commercial market is reserved for those that can afford the thousands of dollars required in setting up a commercial website. These costs will include fees for the site programmer and designer, the domain name, the web hosting, and all other tools and software that they will need to make their online business work smoothly. While this was true in the Internet's heyday, there is no need for it today especially with the proliferation of blog sites. If you have a computer, an internet connection, good writing skills, and great dedication, you too can start your online business and create your own blog site.
Unlike websites, a blog site doesn't have to be created from scratch. In fact, for a beginner, it would be best to choose a free blog hosting site which already has a basic platform installed. So you're essentially not going to start from scratch literally. There is already software available for use, with no cost, and all you need to do now is to make it your own.
Most of the work involved would be in deciding which and what options to use and filling out details. To create your own blog site, here are some of the steps involved:
  • First would be in signing up with the blogging host site that you have chosen. You will be asked for your email address and other basic details like your name, location, and birthdate.
  • After the sign up process, you will then be taken to the settings of your blog account where you will have a number of options in tweaking your blog page. The basic settings will include the space where you will input the blog name and your short description of your site.
  • You will also have the option of choosing your domain name.
  • Your next task is to set up the design and formatting of your site. At this stage you will decide on various format options including the number of posts per page, the language used, the date, archiving, comments and more. Designing your blog will be one of the most tedious tasks ahead of you, especially if you want a unique and personalized design, but it will also be lots of fun once the setup is complete.
  • You will also have a choice in the elements to include in your page and the template to use. Most blog hosting sites also now comes with a wide array of highly customizable templates where you can choose a layout, adjust the spaces, select color themes, and more.
Once you have finally decided on your settings, you can then save them and that's it. As you can see, to create your own blog site at first is a tedious one, but then comes the fun part when you can make posts and publish them relevant to your blog's theme.
