How To Build A List - Starting With Your Information Gift

Building your subscriber list is easier with your own valuable information gift. Here's how to build a list, starting with your information gift.
(1) Acceptance
Your gift will be imperfect no matter how long you dilly dally. Accept it.
Make a simple gift of value to future buyers who don't know you yet.
(2) Assets
Your assets include existing articles and reports. Your brochures and proposals include assets like headlines and benefits. If buyers wrote to you, that's gold.
Put a copy of each at your fingertips.
(3) Computer
Open your word processor.
Blank pages can be scary so start by clicking "Insert." Then click "Header."
(4) Header
You get four choices. Click "Annual." Immediately type a title, such as "How To Clean Your Widget."
Press Tab. Type the year. Click "Close Header and Footer" and then save your document.
(5) Footer
Click "Footer." Click the most complicated! You get 3 "[Type text]" areas. Click the middle one and type a website.
Do you have your own website? Use that! If not, choose another. Include "HTTP" and all the rest followed by the space bar on your keyboard. That way you get a link for readers to click through.
Click left "[Type text]" area. Type your company name. Click right "[Type text]" and on browser's top left, click, "Page Number." Slide down to "Current position" and slide right onto first diagram. Click "Plain number."
Click "Close Header and Footer" then save your document.
(6) Cover
Click "Insert" then click "Cover Page." Click "Annual." Immediately type the name of your gift, "How To Clean Your Widget" and then press Tab to move to date.
Click to select date! When calendar pops up, click today's date.
Click in "Abstract" or Tab there. Type, "Gift" and add a description of the value of your information gift to your reader. Click in "Subtitle" or Tab there. Type a memorable subtitle, "7 Safety Tips!"
Save your document then scroll down.
(7) Content
Your assets are at your fingertips. Pick one point! Type. Repeat.
Read each point aloud. You'll feel words at the tip of your tongue. Pause so you can type them.
Back up to the top! Add what you'd say in person to a buyer.
Save document then click "Save As" and choose PDF so your gift is in the format to give.
