Press Release Traffic - How To Create Traffic Online Using Press Releases

To create traffic to your web site it isn't necessary to only use online promotional mechanism. Many conventional promotional mechanism work well also. A good example of an inexpensive way to create traffic online is the use of press releases. A press release is easy to create, easy to distribute and, if published, has an immediate effect both on your traffic and your search engine rankings.
To create traffic using a press release the first thing you need to do is to create a "press list." A press list is a database of editors in various publications. Often this can be assembled easily by searching the web site of the targeted publication. Don't look for the managing editor - try to find the editor most likely to cover stories related to your product or service. As an alternative to building your own press list, you may choose to use a news wire service. There are a variety of these but they general charge a fee for distribution of your press release.
Once you have your press list assembled, work on your press release. Generally speaking it should contain the following information:
(a) a headline (e.g. "Mumblefritz releases eBook on Pet Grooming")
(b) an explanatory sub-heading ("New eBook contains complete do-it-yourself grooming instructions for cats and dogs.")
(c) a dateline (e.g. Monday, March 23, 2007 - Baton Rouge, Louisiana)
(d) one or two paragraphs about the your topic
(e) a short summary paragraph that describes you or your company - make sure it includes your web site address!
Don't go overboard in your press release. Editors get bombarded every day with wild and unreasonable claims. As Sergeant Friday used to say on "Dragnet," "Just the facts, Miss, just the facts."
