Social Media Newbie to Expert - One Tweet at a Time

Many businesses are using social media sites and tools today for purposes they actually were never meant for. Although, through the ingenious use of these sites and tools, the savvy marketer sees dollar signs.
Companies who are preparing a new product launch have seen dramatic results with sites like Facebook and Twitter. They step into the social media world when they set up a Facebook account geared around a launch party, and it seems to perform successfully. Leading up to the event, they are able to communicate with friends on Facebook very easily.
After seeing the success of large organizations in utilizing Twitter, many dip their newbie toes in the Twitter waters. They quickly find it will be beneficial for the clients and customers they serve. Especially since Twitter is becoming more recognized as a customer service tool as well as a terrific source for news and information.
Incorporating a portfolio of sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, YouTube, Flicker, etc as business tool quickly return results that boggle the mind. It does not take long before to open the eyes to how these social networks can and do generate more than just ' chit chat amongst friends' but actually 'revenue amongst professionals'!
The day quickly comes when they can say that they now have 'tweets' that generate income, many more visitors company blogs, and sale items directly to a public that are not random hits but expressly directed to their website by mutual interest of the blog topics.
For this reason, social media is the new proving grounds for newbies to quickly become experts and brush elbows with the big boys.
